Our Big Event curriculum is designed to give pupils a wealth of first-hand experiences that expand their horizons, helping them to see the many possibilities the world has to offer. Through exciting trips and hands-on learning opportunities, we aim to broaden their understanding of different professions, cultures, and environments, igniting their curiosity and aspirations.

Alongside building aspirations, we ensure that our pupils learn how to stay healthy and safe, equipping them with essential life skills that will support them as they grow. To achieve these goals, we implement the following initiatives:

• Big Event trips: These experiences are carefully planned to enrich pupils' understanding of the world and inspire them to think about the wide range of opportunities available to them.
• Health and Safety talks: We provide regular health and safety education to empower children with the knowledge to take care of themselves and others in various situations.
• Comprehensive PSHE curriculum: Our Personal, Social, Health, and Economic (PSHE) education covers important topics such as emotional well-being, healthy relationships, and decision-making, preparing children for the challenges of the future.
• Transition programme at the end of KS1: As part of our focus on smooth transitions, we work closely with Pilton Bluecoat Academy, which shares our site, to ensure that pupils are well-prepared for their next stage of learning. Our comprehensive transition programme helps children feel confident and supported as they move from KS1 to KS2, easing any anxieties and setting them up for success.
